On Saturday 9 Year 10 pupils completed their first hike as part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme. These pupils are working towards their Bronze Award and on Saturday got the chance to put what they have learnt in school into practice. The group navigated their way around Black Mountain, where they enjoyed some great views over Belfast, then had lunch at the bottom of Divis where they made themselves some hot chocolate before climbing to the summit. The weather was fantastic and everyone enjoyed themselves, we are now looking forward to and overnight hike in Ballypatrick Forest in 2 weeks.
