Online Safety

Online Safety Guidance

At Integrated College Glengormley, we are committed to helping our pupils, parents, and staff navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. The internet offers incredible opportunities for learning, creativity, and connection—but it also comes with risks that we all need to understand and manage.

This page brings together a series of short, engaging videos designed to support our school community in developing healthy online habits, staying safe on social media and gaming platforms, and recognising and responding to cyberbullying. Whether you’re a student looking for practical tips, a parent wanting to support your child, or a teacher seeking resources, you’ll find helpful guidance here.

We also encourage all our parents to sign up for the Safer Schools NI app which provides timely advice on online safety including latest trends and dangers.

Together, we can build a safer, kinder, and more respectful online environment.

  • It gives you prompts, updates and warnings about online trends and threats, helping you to stay in the loop with the digital world.
  • Find out about fake news, influencers, harmful content and more.
  • Get to grips with social media and all the various gaming platforms. Learn the latest buzzwords, the risks they might pose and how to set the best privacy settings for your child or young person.
  • You can take an interactive Quick Quiz to track your learning and test your knowledge!
  • Find advice on issues such as bullying, image sharing, mental health, consent and healthy relationships.
  • Learn how to talk to your child or young person about these issues and find out how you can support them should they face these challenges.
