Mrs Fox | Senior Teacher
Key Role: Pedagogy

I joined the school in 2015 and have been Head of the English Department since 2017. My role involves a whole-school approach to learning across all subjects, giving a voice to both staff and students. The most rewarding thing is hearing what students want/need and then working with staff on how to make the pupils’ learning experience as positive as possible, with a clear focus on their individual progress.

Key Role: Pedagogy

I started teaching in Glengormley High School in 2007. My role as SENCo is to co-ordinate the support for all pupils with SEN and additional learning needs. This means providing teachers with training and advice, and I also work closely with parents, carers and external agencies. Part of my role involves leading our large team of Teaching Assistants, who also provide such valuable support to all our pupils.

Mrs Clarke | Senior Teacher
Key Role: Leading Whole School Attendance, Student Voice and Parent Voice

I previously taught in Belfast Model School for Girls for 17 years as an ICT Teacher and held a range of roles including Head of Year and Head of Department.  I returned to Glengormley High School in June 2021 having left in 6th Year in 1998, I have such fond memories of my time in the school as a pupil and I was delighted when an opportunity presented itself to return to Glengormley High School.  From the moment I joined the school, I have felt as if I have always been here, I love being part of the local school community and I am excited to be part of the transformative journey which lies ahead for our school.

Mr McDowell | Senior Teacher
Key Role: Curriculum Planning
I started my Glengormley journey back in 2009 as a Teacher of PE.  I love teaching at GHS and especially enjoy managing our great school teams.
I am really fortunate to have had many leadership opportunities in school.  Pastorally I have been a Pastoral Learning Leader and Head of Year, for which I now lead Sixth Form.
In terms of whole school, I also build our school Curriculum Model and Timetable which is fun as I enjoy doing puzzles.
