Hair and Beauty

 Welcome to the Occupational Studies Beauty Department. The GCSE Beauty course is new here to Integrated College Glengormley and has proved very popular with pupils wishing to pursue a career in the Beauty/Business & Services industry.

This course aims to:

• Provide Knowledge & Understanding of the Business & Services Industry.
• Encourage pupils to work outside their peer groups to develop & encourage confidence within themselves.
• Develop a range of practical skills relating to the Beauty industry.
• Empower pupils to make decisions & develop treatment plans.

This Course allows pupils to gain experience of a realistic working environment & to further prepare for working life. Pupils will cover a variety of topics, such as Health & Safety in the workplace, Environmentally friendly workings practises, Careers, Manicure & Nail art & Facial skin care. This is such a diverse course that enables pupils to experience what a career in this industry would look like.
