Pastoral Supports

At ICG as well as our Pastoral support we engage with a range of external agencies and utilise their support to best meet the needs of our students within a caring and empathetic environment.

Church Mentoring: We look forward to welcoming Bethan from Glengormley Presbyterian Church who will support our pupils each Wednesday.

EA Mentoring: A locally based EA youth worker, Sarah Murphy, facilitates one to one and group sessions each Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

EA Counselling: An EA qualified counsellor facilitates individual counselling sessions on a weekly basis.

EA Youth Worker: Ben McGloin is a fulltime youth worker and is based in ICG and supports our pupils and staff with a range of pastoral issues.

Alternatives: Kelly, Marc and Gary support staff and pupils on a Monday and Thursday within ICG offering one to one and group mentoring sessions as well as supporting our school community with restorative conversations and conferences.

We are proud to work and have established strong working relationships with a range of external agencies including Nexus, CRIS (Community Relationships in Schools), Connswater Homes, Beyond Skin, Tesco Community Champion, Women’s Aid, Oddballs, Ascert, Start360, Smashed, Made for More, Love for Life, Thrive Academy on a range of pastoral issues.

Regardless of ability, the school will nurture every pupil to reach their potential and help them to be equipped to face our changing world.

At the heart of Glengormley High School is the desire to see young people thrive with one another, because of one another.
