Vision
Our departmental vision is that languages are accessible and achievable for all.
We strive to create a positive learning environment where all students can experience success within an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect.
Resources
We provide pupils with booklets that include a record of vocabulary and grammatical structures, classwork, homework and self-evaluation tools.
We have made bespoke revision guides and assessments.
Assessment
Pupils are assessed in the four skills:
- Reading
- Listening
- Writing
- Speaking

We offer two pathways leading to qualifications at Key Stage 4:

Integrated Ethos
We promote our integrated ethos through being intentional in our teaching and learning in lessons and through celebrations of key festivals in Northern Ireland and the Spanish – speaking world.

Careers
The study of a Modern Language is useful for many career paths and for entry to University Education. It is essential for working in the EU and for some of the following industries: Interpreting and Translating (including film subtitles), Travel and Tourism, Teaching, Journalism, Law, Diplomatic Services, Business, Sales, Banking, Airlines, Catering and Holiday Representatives.
