Pastoral Support Staff

Pastoral support staff

At Integrated College Glengormley, we believe that every pupil deserves to feel safe, supported, and heard. Working alongside each year group pastoral structure, our dedicated pastoral support team plays a vital role in nurturing the emotional wellbeing of our students, offering a safe space to talk, reflect, and grow. Whether a pupil is facing challenges, needs someone to listen, or simply wants to check in, our counselling services are here to help.

We’re proud to introduce the compassionate professionals who work closely with our young people—building trust, offering guidance, and helping them navigate life’s ups and downs. Pupils and Parents/Carers can arrange a session with our Pastoral Support Staff by contacting our Form Tutors/Head of Year with a request.

Meet the team below and learn more about the people who make a difference every day.

Bethan Edge

Hello! My name is Bethan Edge and I’m a local youth worker for Young Life International in North Belfast.  I am based in the Hamilton Building each Friday from 9:30-1:00pm.  I get to work with teenagers through schools work, including one on one mentoring, as well as run youth clubs and events outside of school in the local area. I’ve been working for this charity now for 7 years and absolutely love that I get the opportunity to support, champion and encourage young people.

Marc Young
Hi I’m Marc, I’m a youth worker for Alternatives Restorative Justice in the North Belfast team. I am based in the Hamilton Building each Thursday from 9:00am – 1:00pm.  I’m here in ICG to support YOU! whether you’re having a tough time, need someone to talk to, or just want help figuring things out. I’m not here to judge I’m here to listen, encourage, and help you move forward. Whether it’s a small issue or something bigger, you don’t have to face it alone.
Here’s how I can support you:
• One-to-one restorative chats when things feel overwhelming
• Help with managing emotions, friendships, and choices
• Support with attendance, motivation, and staying focused
• Group sessions to build teamwork and relationships.
• Guidance on next steps—like training, jobs, or further education
• Mediations – dealing with conflict in a non-violent way.

Aisling Bishop

Ben McGloin

Hi, I’m Ben  – I’m ICG’s full-time youth worker, based in Room 7A. I work with students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, supporting those who might be finding school tough or need a bit of extra help with wellbeing and staying engaged. Feel free to drop by for a chat — especially if you want to talk about Arsenal!  I run a drop in on Tuesday and Thursday at breaktime and look forward to meeting lots of new pupils.
